My Review
When my parents were traveling, my sisters and I loved to pack little surprises in their suitcase. We knew that when they arrived their faces would show the happiness that the small gifts brought them. One of our favorite things we liked was coloring them a pretty picture and slip it in to an envelope.
In this adorable book, Katie and Steven are two sweet young children who live with their mother and father. The parents take many trips for business and the children stay home. So, who is Tootsie? That’s such a humorous name. Katie and Steven love Tootsie and he can talk with him.
Because they couldn’t put themselves in the suitcase, they got a different idea. Sending Tootsie was the plan! Early the next morning they sneaked into his parent’s bedroom and hid Tootsie deep into dad’s shoe. Dad wore the shoe to the hotel and when he wasn’t looking, Tootsie jumped out.
He was so excited to go sightseeing and walked all over Washington, DC. He enjoyed the zoo, the museums, and more. When the morning came to fly home, Tootsie climbed back in dad’s shoe. He was so happy to get home and be back with Katie and Steven.
What would Tootsie do? He wanted to tell them of his adventures on the trip with dad.
The book is imaginative and one that children will want to read very often. Children will possibly get some ideas about play, too.

Kathy and Karen grew up in the Chicago suburbs and moved to Virginia as teenagers. They enjoyed many family vacations, which began their love of travel. They both reside in Virginia with their families and continue to instill a love of travel with their own children. This is their first children’s book written together, about a favorite childhood memory that they always wanted to share with others to enjoy. They hope to inspire a sense of adventure in you!
