Speedy Ortiz are back with “Scabs,” their first new song since 2018. It’s also the first Speedy Ortiz song to feature longtime touring bassist Audrey Zee Whitesides and drummer Joey Doubek, who are now full-time band members alongside songwriter, guitarist, and singer Sadie Dupuis and guitarist Andy Molholt. Find “Scabs” below.
Speedy Ortiz co-produced “Scabs” with engineer and mixer Sarah Tudzin (of Illuminati Hotties). They recorded the song at Joshua Tree’s Rancho de La Luna and El Paso’s Sonic Ranch.
“Scabs” follows Speedy Ortiz’s 2018 album, Twerp Verse. Dupuis more recently released Haunted Painting as Sad13.
