Another month of 2023 has already passed, which means it’s time for another monthly reading wrap up!
I read quite a few sequels this month, and it felt good to finish a couple of series! Let’s get right into it and talk about what I read in February!
I’ll do my best to avoid spoilers, but just in case, I have included the spoiler alert at the beginning of this post!
As Good As Dead – Holly Jackson

audio books | hard cover | Kindle | Paperback
The first book I read in February was As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson. I loved the whole A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series and I love Holly Jackson.
To understand what’s happening in this book, you HAVE to read the other two first. It is just incredible how Holly ties everything together in this final trilogy and I can honestly say I did not see the ending coming. I was completely shocked!
Without getting into too much detail, the main character Pip gets herself into trouble and needs help from all of her friends to get her out of it. Does it work? You’ll need to read the series to find out why I gave this five stars!
Among the Impostors – Margaret Peterson

audio books | hard cover | Kindle | Paperback
The second book in the seven book Shadow Children series, Among the Impostors follows Luke, an illegal third child that spent his whole life hiding, as he settles into a new life surrounded by new people and leaving everything he new before behind.
When he starts at Hendricks School for Boys, he finds out some very odd things. For starters, there is not one single window in the whole school. However, he finds a door to the outside and starts to try to figure out the secrets that are hidden inside the walls of the school.
This book was a quick and enjoyable read with great writing and an easy-to-follow plot, so I gave it four stars!
We’ll Always Have Summer – Jenny Han

audio books | hard cover | Kindle | Paperback
The third and final book of The Summer I Turned Pretty series, We’ll Always Have Summer threw me for a loop! Belly is in a very serious relationship with Jeremiah, which I was expecting since things with Belly and Conrad weren’t great in the last book.
Through this book, they are even planning a WEDDING. I was surprised about this, because I didn’t see her ending up with Jeremiah in the end. I always thought it was going to be Belly and Conrad.
So, throughout the book Belly and Jeremiah are planning their wedding, but something HUGE happens and they don’t go through with it. I thought the ending was perfect and was exactly the ending for Belly. Four stars for this book!
Beautiful Disaster – Jamie McGuire

audio books | hard cover | Kindle | Paperback
I read this book in anticipation for the movie that’s coming out in April. I’m one of those people that typically likes to read the book before the movie so I can compare them.
I have high hopes for this movie because I really enjoyed the book. I feel there was some great character development from both Travis and Abby, and their relationship matured some, too. While I don’t think they are exactly right for each other, I did enjoy their story.
The writing was great, the plot was interesting and kept me on my toes, and I really liked this book, earning it 4 stars!
The Wife Before – Shanora Williams

audio books | Kindle | Library Binding | Paperback
I had seen really good reviews about this book, so I decided to give it a shot! This book did not disappoint. It was mysterious, suspenseful, and kept me guessing until the very end.
Samira meets famous pro golfer Roland Graham while working an event to make some money. The two soon start dating and Samira learns that Roland’s last wife passed away in a car accident and he was suspected to be involved.
Although believing he is innocent, Samira starts to think he’s guilty after reading his ex-wife’s journals. We follow Samira as she starts investigating, and she learns what actually happened to Roland’s ex-wife.
I absolutely recommend this book and give it a 4 star rating!
That’s what I read in February! You can read my January reads here!
Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? Let me know in the comments!
