Fresh off their return to being a band, Dååth is back with a cover of Death‘s 1993 death metal classic “The Philosopher” from the Individual Thought Patterns record. The cover features guitarists Dan Sugarman (Ice Nine Killsex-As Blood Runs Black) and Rafael Trujillo (Obsidiousex-Obscura) providing killer guest solos, as well as bassist Dave Marvuglio.
“It’s insane to think that it’s been 30 years since I first saw the music video for ‘The Philosopher’ on Headbanger’s Ball,” said Dååth guitarist Eyal Levi. “I loved the song then and I love it now. This is our attempt to honor chuck‘s legacy and massive contribution to extreme metal.”
“chuck and Death paving the way for future extreme metal bands – the best way to pay tribute is to play,” added Dååth guitarist and orchestrator Jesse Zuretti.
Dååth is currently guitarist Eyal Levi and vocalist Sean Zatorsky alongside new members drummer Krimh (septicfleshex-Decapitated) and orchestrator jesse Zuretti (Binary Code). The band recently streamed their comeback single “No Rest, No End” also featuring Trujillo (Obsidiousex-Obscura) and Spiro Dussiasmore Marvuglio. Check that out here.
